Mushroom, Caramelised Onion and Camembert Cheese tarts

Irresistible and Easy! Perfect for spoiling friends and family!  These little tarts make delicious starters or snacks

Makes 8 tarts

1          roll puff pastry

2          medium onions, sliced, cooked, seasoned

200 g   mushrooms, sliced, cooked, seasoned

1          Camembert cheese, sliced

            Fresh thyme

            Egg wash (1 egg beaten with 30 ml milk)

 

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
  • Unroll the pastry and use a pastry cutter or sharp knife to cut 8 rectangles of about 12cm x 9cm. Use a knife to score a 1cm crust around the outside of each tart.(Do not cut through the pastry – only score the pastry/mark)
  • Transfer the tarts to the prepared baking tray and brush the crust/scored edge with egg wash.
  • Spread some caramelised onion in the centre of each tart, top with slices of the cheese and lastly some mushrooms
  • Bake the tarts for about 15 minutes until golden brown and puffed
  • Best served immediately with some fresh thyme and a drizzle of honey
